Stay Safe Around Pools This Summer With Tips From The Township

Learn to SwimThe Woodlands Township encourages residents to learn about pool safety during the month of May, which is designated as National Water Safety Month across the United States. In 2018, there were 91 drownings in the state of Texas and 50 of those occurred in backyard pools.

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for young children in the U.S. Make safer water practices a top priority this month with tips and programs offered by the Township such as International Otter Spotter Day on Monday, May 13, 2019, from 5 to 6 p.m. at Falconwing Pool, 5610 Rush Haven Dr. This pool safety program is free and open to the public. The session will include games, information about how Josh the Otter practices water safety and a quick safety lesson in the water.

UPDATE: As of Friday, June 26, the reopening of Six Flags Hurricane Harbor has been delayed. The park will not reopen on June 29 as announced in this article. We'll provide an update as soon as we have one.

Are you ready for some over-the-top water thrills? Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown, Houston's largest waterpark featuring over 40 thrill-inducing slides and attractions, will reopen for the 2020 season on Monday, June 29 for members and pass holders and on July 3 for everyone else. As part of its reopening plan, the park will implement health screenings for guests and team members, strictly enforced social distancing, extensive sanitation and disinfecting protocols, managed attendance, and more.

Planet Fitness Free For Teens All Summer Long

Crayola Experience Thanks Educators with Year-Round Fun

altIn honor of National Teacher Appreciation Month, Crayola Experience is launching a nationwide Teacher Annual Pass Program.

Teachers have been a core part of Crayola's heritage since 1903 when Alice Binney - schoolteacher and wife of co-founder Edwin - named the new crayons "Crayola."

Waterway Nights Returns For Summer Series

Waterway Nights, a free concert series hosted by The Woodlands Township, will return for its summer season on Thursday, August 20, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Waterway Square, 31 Waterway Square Place, The Woodlands, TX 77380.

Waterway Nights is a family-friendly event and features live music from a variety of bands and entertainers from multiple genres such as country, rock and pop. Lawn chairs, blankets and coolers are permitted. Glass is prohibited.
