Township community litter cleanup event registration is now open

The Woodlands Township is now registering volunteers for the 10th annual community-wide litter cleanup event, Earth Day GreenUp, on Saturday, March 20, 2021.

Help keep our community beautiful and enjoy the outdoors while bagging litter from streets, pathways and streams. Families, friends and neighbors are invited to join in a socially-distanced volunteer effort that targets litter on pathways, parks, waterways and green spaces.

Call for Artists - Market Street's 2021 Spring Fine Arts Show

Amateur and professional artists alike are invited to showcase their paintings, photography, jewelry, metal works, sculptures, digital art, mixed media and other works of art at Market Street’s 2021 Spring Fine Arts Show on Saturday, May 8 from 10 am – 7 pm.

Free and open to the public, the Spring Fine Arts Show at Market Street is one of the most popular gatherings for artists in The Woodlands where families can browse for great buys, enjoy live music and participate in artist demonstrations.

A 10’x10’ tented exhibit space is $150 and a 10’x20’ tented space is $275. Electricity for booths is limited and available to exhibitors on a first come, first serve basis for $50. Tables and chairs are also available for a rental fee.

Market Street parking meters - Who's getting the dough?

What happens to the money you pay at the Market Street parking meters when you park along the main rectangular loop around Central Park?

This year, four Montgomery County charities will benefit from the thousands of dollars in change inserted in Market Street’s voluntary parking meters throughout the year as the shopping, dining and entertainment destination announces the beneficiaries of the 2021 Change for Charity program: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Assistance League of Montgomery County and YES to YOUTH.

The Woodlands Car Club also generously raises money for the Change for Charity recipients throughout the year at their events, held the first Sunday of each month. Their contributions coupled with the amount donated to Market Street's 68 parking meters make up the total amount given to a selected charity each quarter.

Specialty produce, Local vendors, Artisan wares... There's a new Farmer's Market in town!

Are you ready for something new for 2021? The Sterling Ridge Village Association (SRVA) will be sponsoring the area's first ever Artisans & Farmers Market beginning on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at The Colonnade Shopping Center located at 30420 FM2978, The Woodlands, TX 77354.

The Artisans & Farmers Market will be open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and will feature local area retailers, farmers, specialty produce and food purveyors as well as arts & crafts, novelty, and other exciting vendors.

Hurray for Free Concerts! Waterway Nights returns for spring series on February 6

Waterway Nights, a free concert series hosted by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department, will return for its spring season on Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Waterway Square, 31 Waterway Square Place, The Woodlands, TX 77380.

Waterway Nights is a free, family-friendly event and features live music from a variety of bands and entertainers from multiple genres such as country, rock and pop. Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted. Glass is prohibited.

Free trees to residents - Community Tree Planting Event, Feb. 13, 2021

The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department will host the annual Community Tree Planting: Drive-Through from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at The Woodlands High School parking lot in The Woodlands, Texas 77381.

To maintain COVID-19 safety, this year’s event has been reformatted. Residents will drive through The Woodlands High School parking lot and receive up to two (2) trees in three-gallon pots. Trees may be planted wherever the resident wishes, at home or in green spaces in The Woodlands.
