Have you seen the new orange and white bikes around Town Center? These are part of a new bike-share program recently launched in The Woodlands from Mobike.
The Woodlands Township Chairman of the Board Gordy Bunch said a bike-share program makes great sense for The Woodlands. "The Woodlands is a health-conscious community and features many great outdoor activities for fitness with more than 200 miles of pathways and more than 130 parks," he said. "There are so many great places to see and visit by bicycle. We're pleased Mobike wants to launch its first concept in Texas right here in The Woodlands. "

One of the City of Conroes capital improvement projects for fiscal year 2016-2017 was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park (1001 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Place South). Free trees galore (and cupcakes, too)! Over 65,500 free tree seedlings will be given away at the 42nd annual Arbor Day celebration – one of the longest standing traditions in the community. Hosted by The Woodlands Development Company, the Arbor Day Celebration will take place on Saturday, January 20 from 10am to 2pm at Hughes Landing on Lake Woodlands.
Since 1977, The Woodlands Development Company and its sponsors have given away nearly 1.5 million tree seedlings at Arbor Day. This year, nine varieties of free tree seedlings will be available. The selection of trees includes American Elm, Eastern Redbud, Laurel Oak, Live Oak, Loblolly Pine, Overcup Oak, Sawtooth Oak, Water Oak and Willow Oak.
