For more than 10 years, Tropical Smoothie Cafe® has donated $5.3 million to Camp Sunshine – the Maine-based organization devoted to providing a healthy, happy camp experience to children with life threatening illnesses and their families, completely free of charge. Through numerous efforts, the brand has set its sights on raising $1 million, the most prominent effort being their annual holiday National Flip Flop Day, created solely to support local families and Camp Sunshine. This year, National Flip Flop Day will be held Friday, June 14, 2019.
Now through June 30, the Tropical Smoothie Cafes in Shenandoah and Magnolia will also be offering two ways for guests to make donations to Camp Sunshine. Customers who donate will get a paper sunshine which we be displayed in the local restaurant, and can be customized with guests’ names. Customers may also purchase a Sunshine Discount card can be purchased for $5 for a 5% discount on all Tropical Smoothie Cafe purchases made in 2019.
The Woodlands Township encourages residents to learn about pool safety during the month of May, which is designated as National Water Safety Month across the United States. In 2018, there were 91 drownings in the state of Texas and 50 of those occurred in backyard pools.

The session will include games, information about how Josh the Otter practices water safety and a quick safety lesson in the water.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown, Houston's largest waterpark featuring over 40 thrill-inducing slides and attractions, will reopen for the 2020 season on Monday, June 29 for members and pass holders and on July 3 for everyone else.
