Storybook Theatre-Tanabata celebration- The Star Festival

Storybook Theatre at 11am Friday, July 7th presents a Tanabata celebration with a reading of “The Star Festival” by Moni Ritchie Hadley. This beautifully illustrated story introduces us to Keiko and her family, who are celebrating Tanabata. We get to explore the many traditions of The Star Festival, including the special foods like shaved ice and hanging tanzaku (paper wishes) on a bamboo tree. Introduce your child to the wonder of reading and instill a love of books at an early age. Storybook Theatre combines your favorite childhood books with songs, rhymes and fingerplays which are meant to promote early literacy and enhance language development.

Summer Hours: June 1 – August 5
Tuesday – Friday – 10am-4pm. Saturday – 10am-5pm. Closed Sunday and Monday
Daily Admission is $8 per person 1 years and older, children under 1. Museum Members are free.
