Shadow Puppet Theatre in September
Thursday, September 26, 2024, 11:00am

Shadow Puppet Theatre Thursday, September 5th at 11am presents “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” by Bill Martin, Jr. & John Archambault. This favorite and beloved alphabet rhyme has all the letters racing to the top of the coconut tree.  “Will there be enough room?”   Included in the price of admission, which is $9 for adults and children 1 year and older.

Shadow Puppet Theatre Thursday, September 12th at 11am presents “What Can You Do with a Paleta?” by Carmen Tafolla.  In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15), this story takes us on a walk through a young girl’s barrio, introducing children to the frozen fruity treat and showing all the creative things that can be done with a paleta.

Shadow Puppet Theatre Thursday, September 19th at 11am presents “Pirate Princess” by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen. Princess Bea prefers pirate ships over tea parties and other princess-like activities. When Captain Jack welcomes Bea aboard his ship, she struggles to prove herself seaworthy and comes close to walking the plank until her princess skills rise to the occasion and save the day! By the way, today is Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Shadow Puppet Theatre Thursday, September 26th at 11am presents “A Big Mooncake for Little Star” by Grace Lin.  Little Star loves the yummy Mooncake that she and her mama baked! Will she be able to resist just a little nibble when told she has to wait to eat it? This delightful story explaining the phases of the moon is a fitting tribute to the Chinese Moon Festival (Mid-Autumn Festival), which fell on September 17 this year.
