Books Alive adapts children's literature into fully staged original 45-minute musicals, carefully honoring the author’s message and encouraging students to develop a love of books while often providing their first opportunity to see live theater. Crafted and performed by a professional troupe, productions are big & engaging, fun & entertaining for all ages.
Our Summer 2024 production is an adaptation of Chicken Big by Keith Grave! On a teeny-tiny little farm, in an itty-bitty coop, a very small hen laid a giant egg. And out of this egg came one BIG...something. No matter how they try, these clueless chickens can’t make sense of the gigantic new member of their family—until he saves the day! With wacky, laugh-out-loud humor and silliness to spare, this BIG twist on the classic Chicken Little story lends a whole new perspective for what it means to be a chicken.
Tickets are required and will be handed out to all attendees starting 30 minutes prior, while supplies last. Attendee must be present to receive a ticket.
