The warm, dill pickle flavored popcorn was my fave! POPPS is located at 317 Gentry Dr. D3 in Old Town Spring and has been open since March 2020, but we first discovered the store just last month, quite by accident. We were actually past the store when I looked back and the cute red signage and sparkling clean windows caught my attention. "Can we stop here for sec?" I asked my husband.
As we entered, we were greeted with a lovely welcome by owner, Jay. It was our first visit, which meant we could sample as many flavors of the popcorn as we wanted, and boy, did we! The savory popcorn flavors are all served warm at the counter, and the sweet varieties were all cooled and pre-packaged in ready-to-grab bags.
Jay equipped us all with little sample cups and proceeded to fill and refill (and refill) our cups with flavor after flavor to try! My girls seemed shy about asking for various samples, but Jay encouraged them to try various flavors and even struck up conversation with them to get a feel for what they might like. The experience was lovely!
For a small, quaint store, it was spacious enough and didn't feel crowded at all. We tried caramel, fruit frenzy, Oreo, BBQ bacon, beer cheese, and so many more flavors of popcorn! Of course, there's regular butter-flavored popcorn too (but why bother?).
Last month, they even had fresh caramel apples, and I recently saw on their Facebook page that now they have Hot Chocolate Bombs for the season which are all the rave this year!
