Juneteenth Celebration @ Children's Museum of Houston
Wednesday, June 19, 2024, 09:00am - 05:00pm

Juneteenth is here! Enjoy our many activities that embrace and celebrate the African American spirit, including special performances.

The oldest national commemoration of the ending of slavery, Juneteenth, truly celebrates freedom for all. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston to inform enslaved African-Americans of their freedom, putting into effect the Emancipation Proclamation. Today, Juneteenth celebrates education, achievement and freedom. Celebrate this pivotal moment in American history!‍
