Xscape at 1488, located at 16051 Old Conroe Road in Conroe, recently opened just north of the Del Webb Woodlands development. The theatre includes stadium-style, plush, electric reclining leather seats in every auditorium. Two of the twelve screens are 70' wide Xtreme Screens that use a top-of-the-line 4K Christie Laser Cinema Projector with an immersive wall-to-ceiling Dolby Atmos surround sound system. 
"Our experience building and designing movie theatres over the last two decades has led us to this design. The response that we have received from the residents of The Woodlands, Conroe, and the surrounding communities has been fantastic and we look forward to bringing Hollywood to The Woodlands," says Chance Ragains, CEO, Patoka Capital and President, Xscape Theatres.I recently had the opportunity to visit the theatre with a few friends. We had a little trouble reserving seats ahead of time with our phones (this appears to have been since resolved) and ended up buying the tickets via phone to pickup at the box office. The lobby is spacious with several self-service stations for Xpress Tickets in addition to the staffed box office. The concessions will also soon feature alcohol. I found the seats easy to locate in the dark (thanks to glowing numbers) and extraordinarily comfortable. The Xtreme Screen was truly grand in size. I definitely appreciate this new addition to the neighborhood!
From June 27 through August 15 Xtreme at 1488 will also offer FREE Kids' Summer Movies every Wednesday at 9:30am. A schedule can be found online.
