It’s party time! We ventured beyond The Woodlands to find something exciting and different for my second daughter’s 9th birthday last month. Go-Kart Raceway on W. Mount Houston Rd was a hit! In the past, we’ve enjoyed go-karts indoors before, but there’s nothing like driving a fast cart in the cool, open air. We loved it!
Okay, so maybe this isn’t the ideal area to hang out in with 4 kids, but we felt very safe here.
The venue, located off I-45 just two exits inside the Beltway, has surveillance cameras and responsive employees, and it seems to be very family friendly. For fun, there are regular go-karts, super (faster) karts, 2-seater karts, video games (including my favorite – Ms. Pacman!), game tables (ice hockey, pool, etc.), and games of skill (like Skee Ball, Whack-a-Mole, and other games that dispense tickets). The ticket redemption counter is CHOCK-FULL of goodies for all ages – everything from candies and bracelets to larger-value prizes like watches and stuffed animals. Other venue features include a porch swing, several pay-per-minute massage chairs and vending machines for drinks and snacks.
What I LOVED about Go-Cart Raceway is the flexible packages they offer for groups. There a quite a few options, and as long as you have at least 5 drivers in your party, you can take advantage of a Group Party (advance reservations required), a budget-friendly package that saves you money on the cart rides and games, plus gives you access to two of their many indoor or outdoor party tables for a 2-hour period. The best part about these arrangements? You can bring in your own food and drinks! I love the flexibility of feeding my guests whatever I feel like serving!
- To drive a kart alone, you must be at least 52”.
- To ride as a passenger, you must be at least 36”. My 3-year-old and 7-year-old rode in karts with me and my mom, while the 9 and 11 year olds were able to go solo.
- You must be 15 years or older to drive a super kart or to drive a passenger in a 2-seater kart.
