Get to know All Nations Community School

Some people call it “The Woodlands’ best kept secret,” but how in the world am I supposed to keep this a secret? Nope, not anymore!

Have you gotten wind of All Nations Community School? It’s a Christ-centered, globally-minded academy located at 27420 Robinson Road in Oak Ridge North—and unlike any other school I’ve seen around here lately.

You must know, it’s an impressive institution with PreK-3 through High School, Spanish immersion for all grade levels, a la carte homeschool classes, before and after school care, Advanced Placement courses, and Dual Credit. For PreK, the school offers a 2-Day, 3-Day, and 5-Day option. There’s also award-winning STEM and robotics, fine arts, a school garden, community service, and fascinating electives.

What especially dazzles my heart? All Nations takes a “holistic child” approach to academics and social-emotional development. Filled with teachers heavily focused on pouring into their children, the school has a diverse student body and places emphasis on cultural awareness, respect, and open dialogue. The actual mission of the school is to equip kids with the tools and the purpose to follow Christ, in a globally-minded way. I mean, it’s almost like the Directors see what’s going on in this oftentimes not-so-hospitable world and are dedicated to raising a generation of kids who are open-minded, prepared for an interconnected world, and destined to make a positive impact. I can’t be the only one excited about this!

You might think a small private school like this wouldn’t have an opportunity for students to play team sports, but you’d be wrong. All Nations partners with multiple private schools in The Woodlands area to offer students team sports including soccer, swimming, track and field, cross country, football, and cheer. Booyah!

I popped in for a campus tour, and the first thing I noticed was the sound of wind chimes. It was the last few days of school before summer break, but the campus was serene and welcoming with happy, smiling students who seemed comfortable in their surroundings. With picnic tables, a playground, and a basketball court, the outdoors looks optimal for year-round fun! And then, you walk indoors and that’s where the magic appears.

If you ask me, it’s FIVE STARS for the classrooms! Students learn in beautiful, vibrant, peaceful spaces that seem so organically put together. You won’t see dozens of desks in neat little rows. Instead, you’ll find tables where several students can sit and gather, comfy bean bags for that occasional “chill” time, and an unforced atmosphere of ease and security.

On the walls are Bible verses, learning materials, decorations… and suddenly I’m wanting to enroll myself in one of the classes. Have you ever been fortunate enough to stumble into one of those independent bookstore / coffee shop places? That’s what some of the classrooms at All Nations feel like. Eclectic, cozy, creative… the perfect setting for meaningful learning experiences and cognitive growth.

I've homeschooled my own kids for the past 12 years, and I believe that the elements of a classroom (or wherever the child is learning) is the number one important thing! When kids desire to be there – because the space is aesthetically pleasing, intimate, and comfortable… they are a lot more receptive to learning.

And speaking of homeschooling… high school students may enroll in a traditional full school day and pursue their diploma from All Nations Community School, or they can pursue one of the many hybrid options offered, which includes enrolling in core or elective courses à la carte.

The Director, Christina Calloway, is professional yet personable, warm, and kind, and her heart is BIG for the well-being of all the students. You have to meet her! I loved watching her interact with and support the students we happened to pass during the tour.

All Nations offers a couple of weeks of summer camps, and they’re currently accepting applications for the 2024 – 2025 school year. CLICK HERE to visit their website to learn more and to schedule a tour. (I guess some secrets are better shared!)
