I cried 2 times at Lone Star Lights. My family and I started the evening of our Huntsville-located holiday lights experience with the dinner theater add-on, and the play was bring-you-to-tears hilarious. I was not expecting it to be so delightful! Even more, the food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. We had a salad, baked potato soup, our choice from three premium entrées, and a decadent dessert. The experience included gourmet table settings and an attentive wait staff. If you end up making plans for Lone Star Lights, consider this add-on, especially if you have older kiddos!

We also stayed overnight in a huge family cabin! Two sets of bunkbeds, a queen bed, huge cabin bathrooms, and cozy Christmas decor made our time wonderful. When you stay overnight at the cabin, you get breakfast thrown in, and our meal included both hot and cold features such as bacon, oatmeal, eggs, and potatoes, plus our choices of cereals, breads, and fruit.

Now, let's talk about the light park itself. Lone Star Lights is a festive, all-encompassing Christmas amusement event, and it was definitely our favorite of the season. There were no crowds during our Thursday visit, the park is easy to navigate, and we found the staff to be super friendly and helpful. The sentimental feel of the park allowed us to take our time and really soak in the joy of the season.

Visit the Lone Star Lights website to learn more about all that's included in your park experience, and also check out my Instagram reel to see a wrap-up video, but below are some of my highlights:

I think the snow slide will be one of the more popular Lone Star Lights attractions for families with younger kids, so let me tell you that it did not disappoint! There's an attendant in place, and the slide is fast and safe, and there's also a snow land that both adults and kids enjoyed playing in.

As mentioned above, my family visited on a beautiful Thursday night, the weather was gorgeous, and there were no lines. The park offers numerous lighting displays to enjoy, a prayer & Bible verse garden, a large playground, glow-in-the-dark archery, a bubble area that has the most magical colorful bubbles that turn into smoke when they pop, an interactive reindeer experience, horseback riding, zip lines, an adventure ropes course, live entertainment, Santa’s workshop (including photos with Santa), shopping, food trucks, and more.

Lone Star Lights is big, but it’s not so huge that it’s overwhelming. From the food trucks and concessions, you can purchase all kinds of goodies from funnel cakes to hot cocoa to tacos.
