The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch Emergency Preparedness Event will take place on March 30, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Woodlands Township, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., 77381. Residents and employees in The Woodlands will learn about the latest resources available to help prepare for a hurricane, flood or any emergency. This is a free annual event produced by The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch. CenterPoint Energy is the Presenting Sponsor.
Participants from Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will have a booth at the event, along with public safety organizations, community organizations and sponsors to provide information and answer resident questions about emergency preparedness. Drawing items, giveaways, handouts, snacks and a mini-lantern per family will be provided while they last.
Presentations are scheduled to be held throughout the event with speakers expected from the National Weather Service and local electric and water service providers. There will also be demonstrations and activities to help keep your family safe.
Children and adults will have a chance to climb into a fire truck, patrol car, ambulance and specialized emergency equipment and bucket trucks from CenterPoint Energy. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to sign up for emergency notifications, local volunteer opportunities in the area and related classes provided by organizations in attendance. All participants and presentations are subject to change.
This is a rain or shine event indoors and outdoors, so in case of inclement weather some activities may be canceled or moved indoors. Prior to the event, a more detailed schedule of presentations and activities will be available on The Woodlands Township website at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov.
