Since 1977, The Woodlands Township has distributed over 1.5 million tree seedlings through their annual Arbor Day event. This year they will hand out another 44,000 seedlings free to residents of the community on Saturday, January 26th from 10AM-2PM at Hughes Landing. Class Act Stars On Tour will also be on hand for a special musical performance.
Nine varieties will be offered this year: Bald Cypress, Laurel Oak, Live Oak, Loblolly Pine, Overcup Oak, River Birch, Sawtooth Oak, Silky Dogwood and Water Oak. Residents are encouraged to plant their seedlings in their garden or in reserves or forested preserves.
