A Magical Winter Break at The Woodlands Children’s Museum

altChildren are invited to spend their winter break playing, laughing and marveling at amazing feats of magic at The Woodlands Children's Museum.

The museum has a full lineup of special activities from Dec. 27 to Jan. 4, including magicians, live music, a visit from Olaf the snowman from Frozen, and the fun and excitement of Winter Bingo.

"We look forward to the opportunity of providing children and their families with magical moments, kindling children's imaginations during carefree playtime and encouraging joyful times of singing and laughing with our on-stage entertainers," said Angela Colton, executive director of the museum.


Thursday, Dec. 27
The winter break lineup begins with 30-minute performances by singer Joe McDermott. His first concert begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by additional shows at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m.

McDermott, who has been described as a "Texas treasure" by the Texas Library Association, released his first children's music album in 1988. The former Montessori teacher has received numerous Parent's Choice Awards and nominations along with recognition from the National Parenting Product Awards (NAPPA), the International Song Writing Competition and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Friday, Dec. 28
The museum will present variety shows by Skeeter the Clown at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Skeeter is known for enchanting young audiences with his infectious humor, magic and music.

Saturday, Dec. 29
Monty the Magician will awe audiences at 10:45 a.m., noon, and 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Monty, an audience favorite at the museum, has been performing magic for more than 25 years and specializes in children's entertainment.

Wednesday, Jan. 2
Children can meet Olaf, the loveable snowman from Frozen. This beloved Disney character may be made of snow, but he loves exchanging warm smiles and laughter with little ones. His appearances are set for 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 3
The museum's winter-themed bingo games will allow children to compete for special prizes. Games will start at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 4
The museum has lined up a captivating finale to the winter vacation fun: Magic shows by Scott Hollingsworth, who has thrilled and amazed children's audiences around the world. Performances will take place 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.

The winter break activities are included in the museum's regular $6 admission for visitors age 1 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all time.
