In early January, The Woodlands Enrichment Center will open in the Village of Grogan's Mill in a new 6,000 square foot custom space designed for childhood learning programs. Pre-enrollment will begin Monday, November 5.
The new venture combines child-focused programs previously operating separately in the same shopping center under a consolidated umbrella to offer enhanced enrichment and preschool programming. Play Smarter Kids, Kindermusik and The Woodlands Academy of Music will close during the winter holidays and reopen in the new space on January 7, 2019.
"Everyone involved in The Woodlands Enrichment Center is focused on helping kids learn advanced concepts in an age-appropriate, relaxed way that keeps learning fun," said Aurora Clarke, Director of The Woodlands Enrichment Center Preschool. "We're excited to offer our programs to more families. Our original story-based curriculum actually increases understanding and retention, and kids think they are playing and having fun!"
Key Program Offerings:
- Five-day preschool: Children from eighteen months to six years will enjoy story-based classes from the original Play Smarter Kids curriculum that keep them active, moving and learning with hands-on activities. Classes will integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) concepts with early literacy, alongside cooking, music, and "Playbotics." Small class sizes and focused training empower teachers to address cognitive, developmental and behavioral skills. TWEC's flexible scheduling arrangements allow families to choose the number of days to attend.
- Enrichment Classes: TWEC also offers enrichment classes for kids three to 13 in the areas of science, art, cooking, technology, "Playbotics," theater arts, dance, gymnastics, martial arts, horseback riding and more. Advanced classes are offered for children beginning at age six. In addition to Houstons oldest Kindermusik program, children may enroll in group classes and private instruction in several instruments. TWEC will also offer Music Troop, a unique group piano and guitar preparatory program for children age five to seven.
- Workshops and Camps: Camps, workshops and special programs will be offered on select weekends, school breaks (Thanksgiving, winter holidays, spring break) and summer. Each camp or workshop will focus on a special theme and subject area.
