The Community Safety Expo will include public safety demonstrations and fun for all ages. Learn from public safety personnel and see equipment from local, state and federal agencies. The various agencies and groups will have information and giveaways to distribute on fire and crime prevention, emergency preparedness and health and wellness.
Entertainment will include K-9 demonstrations, Entergy Arcs and Sparks, Fire Safety and Hands-Only CPR. Live music will be provided by Texas Joe Bailey and the Sweet Leaf Junction Band. The Kid Zone will have face painting, a bounce house, crafts and an opportunity to meet McGruff the Crime Dog. Complimentary food and refreshments will be offered while supplies last, sponsored by HEB, Chick-fil-A and Firehouse Subs.
New this year:
- Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Watch UR BAC program will demonstrate how your senses and mobility are impaired with their new drunk and drug-impaired suit.
- Residents can experience a motorcycle simulator that stresses the importance of riding sober.
- The Passenger Safety Rollover Convincer shows the importance of buckling up in the car.
- Inkless digital fingerprint cards will be offered by Allstate for children through the KidSafe program.
Free parking will be available across from Northshore Park at Alight Solutions (formerly known as Aon Hewitt) at 9500 Lakeside Boulevard.
