And don't' forget - Texas tax-free weekend runs from this Friday, August 10, through Sunday, August 12. Shoppers at Texas retailers can save about $8 on every $100 spent on products exempt from state sales taxes. Most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced below $100 are exempt items. I missed the deadline to purchase the pre-assembled school supply kit from my son's school and was able to knock through about 90% of the school supply list using Walmart Grocery! Shopping online for specific color folders, blunt-tip scissors, pencil boxes and more was super easy and free pickup was a breeze - everything is brought right to your trunk.
