The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch Hosts Safe Driving Event
PUBLISHED:
The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch invites the community to the Smart Decisions for Safe Driving event on Sunday, May 6, 2018, from 2 to 5 p.m. at The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park, 6464 Creekside Forest Drive.
The event will feature the presentation When Sean Speaks by special guest, Sean Carter, along with his mother, Jenny. Carters powerful presentation details the circumstances and choices that led to him being in a wheelchair, unable to talk or walk. Although his voice is silent, his message can be heard as he communicates through his iPad and shares his story. The Carters and their organization seek to educate and inform the public about the dangers of impaired driving and the importance of making responsible choices before driving or riding as a passenger with someone who is impaired.
Following the presentation, there will be hands-on activities and learning opportunities such as distracted driving simulators, a seatbelt rollover convincer, DUI pedal cars, virtual reality goggles and more. Families can meet with representatives from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office; Assistant District Attorney, Chief Vehicular Crimes; Harris County Constable Office, Precinct 4; Texas A&M Passenger Safety; Texas A&M Watch UR Back; Teens in the Driver Seat; Montgomery County 9-1-1; Montgomery County Hospital District; Memorial Hermann Live Your Dreams; Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission; Department of Public Safety; Texas Department of Transportation; and MADD.
This event is open to adults and students. Whether someone is just learning to drive or has been behind the wheel for decades, this impactful program is one that will resonate with drivers of all ages and experience levels.
