Enhance your family's performing arts experience this season at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion with Mini Maestros, a free and exciting program that makes the arts both fun and accessible for children of all ages. As part of its nonprofit mission, The Pavilion introduced the program in 2018 as a way to get children interested in the performing arts.
By signing up for Mini Maestros, children will receive:
- A special membership lanyard and badge
- Free reserved seating at all performing arts events
- Special opportunities to meet the conductor and artists
- Early entrance to Ice Cream Social and Hocus Pocus Pops
- A free Mini Maestros t-shirt after attending (4) performing arts events
- A free ticket to the annual Children's Festival event in November after attending (2) performing arts events
- And more surprises throughout the season!
The program was created with the goal of introducing children in the community to a variety of classical forms of entertainment which will hopefully inspire them to play an instrument and join a band or an orchestra program in the future. Research has shown that increased access and involvement in arts education can positively affect an entire student culture especially student motivation, attitudes and attendance. Reports dictate that the experience of early participation in the arts encourages children to pursue other opportunities, such as education, to expand their horizons.
Families can register their children at any of The Pavilion's performing arts events this season at a special booth located in the North Plaza or online.
