Apple Store Offers Free Sessions For Kids & Teachers

altThe Apple Store at The Woodlands Mall offers free, hour-long, kid-focused sessions that teach kids how to code, work with robots and spark their creativity. The Kids Hour sessions are open to ages 4 to 12 years (depending on the session) and the Hour of Code session is open to kids 12 and older. No tech gear is necessary; you can bring your own iPad or Apple can provide gear for use during the session. The best part? Sessions are held early Friday evening and during Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The Apple Store also offers sessions exclusively for teachers, including field trips.

Sessions available for registration for kids (subject to change) include Photo Lab, Coding Lab and Video Lab.

Registration opens June 17 for the free Apple Camp, where kids 8 to 12 can tap into their creativity through hands-on projects in a three-day experience at the Apple Store. Campers choose to explore music, coding, moviemaking or art & design and spend 90 minutes a day for three days at a local Apple Store immersed in the subject of their choice.

Free sessions specifically for educators are offered at night during the week. Current offerings (subject to change) include Storytelling with iMovie and App Design and Coding Basics. Teachers can also take their students or fellow teachers on an Apple Field Trip for an unforgettable learning experience. During the hands-on session, groups will take their imaginations to new heights using Apple products.

The Apple Store is located on the first floor at The Woodlands Mall at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive. For more details visit their website or call 281-203-6870.
