As I entered Topgolf Spring facility at 560 Spring Park Center Blvd, others were headed out, and – I have to say this for the single moms – there were quite a bit of good-looking men there who may or may not have been eligible bachelors. Just some food for thought! Now, where were we? When you enter, you’re greeted with music, lights, a beautiful lobby, a helpful staff, TV’s galore, and, did I mention the energy in this place?
For the Blogger Series Event, we were escorted to a private indoor Signature Room that had glass doors leading out to the outdoor golf bays. The food we enjoyed was scrumptious, but the Topgolf hospitality throughout the night was even better! Top notch, in fact. They served - cocktail reception style - sangria and hors d'oeuvres, treated us to a delightful wine tasting where we sampled several great-tasting wines while receiving a Wine 101 primer, and brought out mouthwatering appetizers (Chargrilled Steak Flatbread and Mini Mushi Rolls). Throughout this part of the evening, we enjoyed sampling, mingling, meeting other moms, taking lots of photos of course, and indulging in our event’s full service bar.
Next on the agenda: golf! The hitting bays are lounge-style and comfortable for relaxing, drinking, and eating. Here’s how the golfing works, in layman’s terms: From your bay, you pick up a golf club, wave it over a sensor, and the golf ball machine serves up your microchipped ball like magic. You put the ball on the tee, and you hit it into one of the (large) target holes in the 240-yard outfield. Because it’s a driving range and not an actual course, you don’t have to walk to the next hole; you stay put – in your bay – with your friends, food, and conversation. The closer to the center or “bull’s-eye” of each hole and the farther out you hit your microchipped balls, the more points you receive. Your score is automatically computed (based on the accuracy and distance of your shot), and it appears on your bay screen. Indeed, the machine can keep up with scores like you’d do for bowling, but our Ladies Night was mainly a free-for-all. We hit when we wanted to hit and didn’t worry much about whose turn it was. (So I can totally say I won with the most points, and you’d be none the wiser!)
While we were golfing, we heard the words we’d been waiting for: THE BUFFET IS READY! Back into the private room we went! Some of us stayed inside to indulge, while others stacked their plates then returned to their bay to keep playing. Here’s what we ate: Baby Leaf Spinach Salad with goat cheese and candied pecans, Green Chili Mac ‘n Cheese, Mini Pickle Fried Chicken Sandwiches, Chicken & Waffle Sliders, and Craft Beer Queso with tortilla chips. For dessert, we enjoyed s’mores (gooey marshmallow and chocolate chip sandwich cookies) and injectable donut holes. Seriously! The donut holes are served crispy and hot, and they came with 3 syringes of filling – Bavarian cream, chocolate, and raspberry jelly. Inject them how you wish! Novel idea, right? And delicious.
My favorite part about the event was the people. As always, our WoodlandsMommy.com readers were awesome, but the Topgolf Spring staff was amazing. They were friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and very hospitable. They provided our guests with exceptional service, and I don't know that there was any room for improvement. Really, they rocked! They even sent us home with parting gifts!
