Reading with your pre-kindergarten child is rewarding and fun! What a great way to prepare for kindergarten and a lifetime of reading! Experts say that kids who hear a lot of language do better in school. Of course, you should talk to your child throughout the day, sing songs, play rhyming games, and more. But also, READ!! Reading is one of the best ways to hear language.
- Set aside time to read every day.
- Read favorite books over and over.
- Talk about your favorite parts of the story.
- Look at all the pictures and talk about everything you see.
- Always read with expression and have fun.
