Apples
Give your child an apple to hold.
Talk about the color, shape, etc.
For snack time, cut the apple and
point out its white inside and its
seeds.

Hide and Seek Apples
Scatter ten apples throughout the
room and help your child seek
them, counting as each apple is
found and placed into the basket.

Apple Free Play
Provide real or plastic apples in a
basket for free play. You child can
practice dumping and filling the
apples or rolling the apples
around.

Guess What
Put an apple inside a paper bag
and have your toddler reach in and
touch it without looking. Ask your
child to guess what is in the bag.
Try this game with other fruits as
well, such as a banana or some
grapes.

Ripe Red Apple
Ripe red apples juicy sweet
(rub your tummy)
Ripe red apples I will eat
(take hand to mouth)
I will shake the apple tree
(pretend to shake)
And let the apples fall on me!
(hit your head gently)

Little Apples
(Tune of "Ten Little Indians")
One little, two little, three little apples,
Four little, five little, six little apples,
Seven little, eight little, nine little apples,
All fell to the ground.

Apples
Apples here (point to yourself)
Apples there (point away)
Apples are growing everywhere (hands
form a circle)
Some are high (point up)
Some are low (point down)
You will see apples wherever you go
(point to eyes)
Apples on the left (extend left arm)
Apples on the right (extend right arm)
You will see (point to eyes again)
Both day and night (Hands together
and head down on them)

Apple Tree
Way up high in the apple tree (stretch
arm up high)
Two red apples smiled at me (hold up
2 fingers)
I shook that tree as hard as I could
(make a shaking motion)
Down came the apples, (make a
downward motion)
Mmmm--were they good! (smile and
rub stomach)
