Pretend Camp Make an old fashioned tent draping some blankets over a large table. Use sleeping bags or large pillowcases and lay on the floor in the tent with the lights off. Hold flashlights, sing songs, eat hot dogs and s'mores or enjoy a sack lunch, etc.
Star Gazing Go on a scavenger hunt throughout the house to find stars. Look on blankets, clothing, inside books, etc.
Nature Hike/Wreath Take your child on a hike outside (your yard, the neighbor's yard, the park, etc.) to collect nature items such as leaves, sticks, small rocks, and dirt. Make a Nature Wreath by cutting the center out of a paper plate, then gluing on the nature items you have found. Embellish the wreath with glitter if desired.
Shadow Puppets Darken the room and experiment with a flashlight and shadow puppets.
Bear Hunt If you child owns teddy bears, hide them throughout the house and then "hunt" for them, being sure to place the found bears in a trashbag so they won't get away!
