This Little Piggy
(Use your baby's toes to act this out.)
This little piggy went to the market.
This little piggy stayed home.
This little piggy had roast beef.
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy went
Wee, wee, wee, wee, all the way home.

This Little Piggy (version 2)
(Act out according to words)
This little piggy can wiggle its ears,
Wiggle its nose,
And wiggle its toes.
This little piggy can jump up and down,
turn around,
And touch the ground.
This little piggy can grunt when it's sad,
Squeal when its mad,
And oink when it's glad.
This little piggy can eat very fast,
Splish and splash,
Then sleep in the grass

Rinky Dinky
Rinky dinky dinky do,
This is what the piggies do,
Rinky dinky dinky do
Piggies go "oink"
Listen for the sound:
Oink, Oink, Oink

Are You Listening?
(sung to Frere Jacques)
Are you listening, are you listening
To the pig, to the pig?
Hear the pig calling,
Hear the pig calling.
Oink,oink,oink;
Oink,oink,oink.

Piggy Ride
Lay a small, soft blanket or
towel over your knee, for your
baby's comfort. Seat your baby
on your knee, facing you, and
hold her arms for support.
As you recite the following
rhyme, gently bounce your baby
up and down.

To market, to market,
to buy a fat pig,
Home again, home again,
jiggety-jig.
To market, to market,
to buy a fat hog,
Home again, home again,
jiggety-jog.

Pick Which One?
Put a piece of baby-safe fruit on
your infant's tray. Cover it with a
plastic cup. Then put two other
cups upside down on the tray
and move them around. See if
your infant can pick the bowl
with the fruit underneath. Play
until she finds her treat. When
she picks a bowl with nothing
under it, act surprised and ask
"Where is the fruit?

Blow A Kiss
You can teach your baby to give
a gift of love as you blow a kiss
to her and encourage copying
blowing a kiss by spreading
open your arms and saying,
"Blow mommy a kiss." Help
your child copy you. For fun, you
can also blow kisses to each
other in front of the mirror.

Pig Scavenger Hunt
Hunt for pigs! Look all
around the house -
inside books, on
clothing, in your baby's
toy chest. Look outside
the house at the store
(stuffed pigs), etc,
being sure to tell your
child "here's another
pig!" with each pig you
find.

Face to Face Interaction:
Play with your infant with a
stuffed animal (preferably a
stuffed pig since that's the
week's theme!) Use a funny
voice to make the stuffed
animal talk. Make the animal
give your baby kisses on each
body part, counting to ten as
you go (Ex. One kiss on
baby's little head, two kisses
on baby's ears, three kisses
on baby's knee, etc.)
