The ELQN Back to School Festival is a family-centered, come-and-go event designed to meet the educational, medical, and material needs of local families in preparation for the upcoming school year. This initiative was informed by community feedback gathered through previous engagement efforts, ensuring that programming is directly responsive to expressed needs.

Key Features:

• Backpack Giveaway: Free backpacks for registered school-age children.
• Health Services: We’ve invited the Harris County Health Department to provide school immunizations (pending confirmation).
• ELQN Survey: All attendees will be encouraged to complete an ELQN survey to further shape future community programming.
• Vendor Presentations & Introductions: Local vendors will be introduced to the community and have a platform to present their services.
• Live Entertainment: Featuring Mr. Tom’s Fun Band in partnership with Young Audiences to create a fun and engaging atmosphere.
• Games & Activities: Game stations will be available for families to enjoy throughout the event.
• Food & Beverages: Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
• Guest Speaker Request: We are inviting a speaker from NLI or the emergency care vendor to present helpful back-to-school health and safety information.
• Resource Table: Information from a range of community organizations will be available to support families beyond the event.
