Storybook Theatre in April
Friday, April 25, 2025, 11:00am

Storybook Theatre Friday, April 4th presents at 11am “Do Fairies Bring the Spring?, ” by Liza Gardner Walsh. This whimsical story explores the world of fairies and the changes outdoors as spring arrives. Do the fairies wake up the earth and turn the trees green and make the flowers grow?

During Storybook Theatre Friday, April 11th at 11am we are celebrating National Poetry Month with two amazing books. “Ready for Spaghetti: Funny Poems for Funny Kids”, by Michael Rosen. Miss Jan will read excerpts from this delightful and fun collection of poetry. “Daniel Finds a Poem” by Micha Archer. In celebration of National Poetry Month, this charming story about Daniel and his animal friends shows children that poetry is all around us if we just observe and listen for it!

Enjoy a reading of “The Golden Egg Book” by Margaret Wise Brown on Friday, April 18th at 11:00am.  A little bunny discovers an egg with something moving inside of it. What could it be? Then at 1:00pm, Miss Jan’s reads “Bear Finds Eggs” by Karma Wilson. From the beloved “Bear” series, Bear and his friends hunt for Mama Meadowlark’s missing eggs, painting all the eggs they find with bright colors so they don’t get lost again. Hare holds onto the eggs in his basket. Will they be able to get all the eggs back to the mama?

Join us on Friday, April 25th at 11:00am for a Storybook Theatre reading of “Book Fiesta!:  Celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day (Celebremos El día de los niños/El día de los libros)” by Pat Mora. Celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day with a special performance by The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra’s String Ensemble.  This special day (which falls on April 30) highlights the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.  Today’s story encourages children to explore the world of books wherever they are and will be read in English and Spanish.  The WSO String Ensemble will perform storybook and international-themed music immediately following the reading.
