Kids…Decorate a Cake For Father’s Day!
Yum yum! Have you dropped in at Montgomery Bakehouse lately? Hands down, it's our favorite local full-service bakery, and this Saturday, June 17, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. is a great occasion to pay them a visit!

If it's true that the key to dad's heart is through his stomach (and it is!), bring your little ones to the bakery on Saturday and let them roll up their sleeves for the ultimate Father's Day gift - a personally decorated cake just for dad! Sprinkles, icing, and a special Father's Day plaque is included, and the best part is that you'll leave with something in hand to gift to Dad or Grandpa on his special day - a delicious vanilla or chocolate cake that the family can enjoy!

Celebrate the Star Festival, Tanabata, at The Woodlands Children's Museum

alt

In Japan, it's not unusual this time of year for children to have stars in their eyes. In fact, it's encouraged. July 7 is when families celebrate Tanabata, also known as Evening of the Seventh or the Star Festival, to commemorate a special, once-a-year reunion between two celestial bodies.

Visitors to The Woodlands Children's Museum will have a chance to experience this festival for themselves on Friday, July 7, when the museum hosts a Tanabata celebration with a hands-on art activity and Japanese dance performances.

Here's the PLAY Book - Fun Summer Programs in Conroe!

WOWZERS!! Do you have The PLAY Book? That’s the program guide published by the City of Conroe Parks & Recreation that includes all the exciting, organized activities throughout the city for your entire family. Even if you don’t live in Conroe, picking up their PLAY book for the summer months might be worth your while for added summer value. For my family, I think it’s worth a drive to get to some good stuff! Conroe offers a variety of theme-based summer camps, swim programs, music classes, and other recreation we think you’d want to know about. (And for you budget-conscious mommies, you’ll appreciation the lower registration fees and tuitions as well.)

I personally have my eyes on the Pretty Princess Camp for the 3-year-old, Fun Quest Day Camp for my 7 and 9 year olds, and the Safe Sitter class and the Totally Teen Program for my pre-teen. There's so much more available too (ukulele classes!) that is calling my name. I still can’t get over the $8/child cost for their monthly 4-hour Parent’s Night Out program (called “Fresh Fridays”, offered during the school year only).
