Free Breakfast Wednesdays at Chick-fil-A
Don't miss FREE chicken for breakfast all month long, as your local participating Chick-fil-A restaurants will be offering one free breakfast entree per person every Wednesday morning in January. Breakfast hours may vary. We LOVE that Chick-fil-A makes it easy to claim their freebies, even in the drive-thru. And remember, it's one entree per person, so your little ones get the freebies too, as long as they're present!

Dress-Up Your Home for the Holidays - Places we LOVE!

If you love creating new holiday looks for your home but DON’T love spending a whole lot of dough, you’ll appreciate this list. Here are the best places around for fun and fashionable holiday décor and furnishings without breaking the budget.

Kirkland’s, 27842 Interstate 45, The Woodlands
Did you know you can refresh your home’s entire look just by replacing its art and wall décor? Kirkland’s is one of the best places around to accomplish this! Whether you want canvas paintings, oversized clocks, Christmas wreaths, decorative crosses, or something completely different, Kirkland’s is a great place to start your search. With everything from rugs and curtains to mirrors and candles, you might just find ALL you need at this fun and festive store.  Best values: canvas wall art, pillows, accent chairs

At Home, 16778 Interstate 45, Conroe
It used to be called Garden Ridge Pottery and still carries all the same great finds. At Home is at treasure trove of decorative items for your holiday redo. We love them for their decorative mirrors and inexpensive knick-knacks (great for if you have nooks and crannies to fill throughout the home). The store also features a great selection of chairs and barstools – perfect for temporarily (or permanently) replacing any damaged pieces in your home.

An Awesome New Place to Party - Check out Kicky & Tink's Playhouse!

Booking your child’s next birthday party at this delightful new playhouse in our area will be one easy decision for you to make!

I was smitten the moment we walked in for our tour of Kicky & Tink’s Playhouse, a fun party facility located at 2731 Spring Stuebner, just south of The Woodlands. Let me back up. The place is not exactly “new”, but rather two years old, but it does look and smell brand new, plus depending on the route you take around the area, you may not have seen it before. Boy am I glad I dropped in! It’s a lively, intimate, clean party setting that you need to know about!

Fun Workshops at the Woodlands Children's Museum

Enrollment is underway for fall workshops at The Woodlands Children’s Museum. There are a variety of offerings that explore a range of subjects – from art and dance to science and culture – all for children ages 2 to 10.

For toddlers ages 2 and 3, the museum offers Early Childhood Explorations. Children must attend with an adult. These magical classes introduce children to basic social skills and prepare them for pre-school. Parents also may sign their toddlers up for Happy Feet workshops on Thursdays, which offer exposure to dance and movement, or Little Picassos on Wednesdays, which explores beginning artistic processes.

KindeReady workshops, designed for children ages 4 and 5, provide captivating learning games and activities that build reading skills, number recognition, fine motor skills and creative self-expression, with each week featuring a new theme built around a favorite storybook.

Alley Theatre Invites Audiences to Shakespeare@400

This month, the Alley Theatre hosts Shakespeare@400 a variety of educational and patron-engaging events, centered around the Alley’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream beginning previews October 7, and opening October 12.

The Alley celebrates 400 years of Shakespeare - rich with history and filled with the Bard’s iconic language - with Shakespeare@400. Shakespeare@400 activities are aimed towards introducing Shakespeare’s text to new audiences and also sharing the Alley’s own rich history with Shakespeare through costumes, artifacts and props on display.

The Alley invites families to attend the Shakespeare Saturday beginning on October 15. Shakespeare Saturdays are free and open to the public and will include a “ Start Up Shakespeare” pre-show workshop starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Louisiana Room.  During this workshop, families are invited to experience the art behind Shakespeare's play in a special gallery designed to engage parents and students (ages 12-17) before the show. Families will then explore the major conflicts and themes in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with an activity guided by Alley teaching artists.
