Our favorite season of the year is here, and there's plenty to do in 3 short months! Be sure to make note of all the festivals, fairs, and special events going on in our area, and then enjoy WoodlandsMommy.com’s fun and exciting “Bucket List” of activities to ensure you have the best fall yet:

1. Visit a pumpkin patch. (Use our list, found here.)  Dress the kids in coordinating fall attire, take adorable photos, and take home your favorite pumpkin finds. Use one or two to decorate your home or front doorstep, and don't forget to carve Jack-o-lanterns for Halloween.

2. Purchase fresh produce from a farmer’s market. It’s harvest season, and you’re bound to find fresh fruit & veggie favorites, farm-fresh eggs, and handmade preserves and pickles at one of the many open-air farmer’s markets in our area. Here’s our list.

Tea with the Queen? Yes, please! Mad Hatter Tea Party, Oct. 6

After Alice tumbled down the rabbit hole in Lewis Carroll’s classic tale, “Alice in Wonderland,” she encountered a world where being silly was perfectly acceptable, even expected. The Woodlands Children’s Museum will give children a taste of that magical world on Friday, Oct. 6, when it hosts a Mad Hatter Tea Party.

Activities are scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280. During that time, children can make their own Mad Hatter hats before decorating cookies and taking tea with Alice and The Mad Hatter. Children also can pose for pictures in their hats, join a tea cup craft in the Muse (art area), and hear a reading of “Alice in Wonderland” in the stage area.
