THIS WEEKEND! Children’s Memorial Hermann IRONKIDS Texas!

Mark your calendars for children’s race day in The Woodlands! Registration is now open for the Children’s Memorial Hermann IRONKIDS race which takes place on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Pre-Race Activities will begin at 9:00am at Town Green Park and include face painting, local vendors and more, followed by the race at 10am! This family-friendly fun run offers young athletes ages 3 to 13 years the unique opportunity to feel the excitement of competition while enjoying the outdoors and promoting healthy living.
Parents, family, and friends are invited to cheer on the racers while they run through The Woodlands at distances of 1 mile and ½ mile (Racers can choose distance on race day). The $20 registration, which benefits the Memorial Hermann Foundation can be done online at and includes a t-shirt, finisher medal, and goodie bag. your social media marketing partner
Science Palooza at The Woodlands Children's Museum

Got science? The Woodlands Children’s Museum will host a different, interactive science experiment every day of the week during its Science Palooza.

The exploration begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. from Saturday, March 11, through Saturday, March 18, at the museum located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280. 

The planned experiments include:

  • Magnetic and glow slime on Saturday, March 11
  • Marshmallow sink or float on Sunday, March 12
  • Water microscopes and bending light on Monday, March 13
  • Hydrophobic sand on Tuesday, March 14
  • Invisible ink on Wednesday, March 15
  • Vision tricks on Thursday, March 16
  • Green oobleck on Friday, March 17

McDonald's Houston Children's Festival - April 1-2


Tickets are currently on sale for the 29th Annual McDonald’s Houston Children’s Festival, returning to downtown Houston April 1-2.   This year, the festival is proud to announce its new website.  Visit to purchase your tickets, and online buyers will receive a $2 discount off the regular ticket price of $12.  The upgraded website provides more detail regarding the entertainment schedule, games and interactive activities, food and beverage as well as information on Child Advocates, the beneficiary of the festival.

This year’s festival will also feature the three-time nominee for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award “Favorite TV actor,” Jack Griffo.  Known for starring in the Nickelodeon series The Thundermans, where he plays Max Thunderman, the twin brother who strives to become a supervillain.  Griffo first made appearances as an extra in 2011 on the television series Kickin' It and Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures. Miller Outdoor Theatre Season Opener: 2017 Season Opener: Michael Londra’s Celtic Fire

We’re certainly up for some Irish dancing! Aren’t you? Head down to Houston’s Miller Outdoor Theatre on March 17 for this free event.  Celtic Fire, starring renowned Irish tenor Michael Londra, presents the culture of Ireland, with a focus on Irish dance. World-class Irish dancers will take the stage with brilliant flashes of speed and exuberance, jigs and reels performed with precision. The innovative choreography is original to the show, presenting an exciting style of Irish dance that perfectly complements the live band. Spring BreaKation at The Woodlands Children's Museum

Spend spring break at The Woodlands Children’s Museum and make the most of the time away from school at a place dedicated to creative play. 


There are a number of fun workshops scheduled for Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17. 

Discovery Workshops are offered for 4-year-olds. Each day, children may explore a new topic and enjoy hands-on activities. The workshops are scheduled for 9 noon.

• Hats Off to Dr. Seuss – On Monday, March 13, children will celebrate the magical imagination of this favorite author and artist.

• To Infinity and Beyond – On Tuesday, March 14, amateur astronomers will travel the depths of space while they discover fun facts about the solar system and create their own jet packs.

• Crazy About Critters – Wednesday, March 15, is all about furry, feathered and scaly animal friends.
