Bike Month Celebrated in The Woodlands
alt
Bike The Woodlands Coalition has partnered with The Woodlands Township to celebrate National Bike Month in May for the fourth consecutive year. A full event guide is available to help interested riders select from over 40 individual activities for their age and abilities. For kids, five events are planned to help families and neighbors enjoy fun neighborhood rides in The Woodlands.

Events throughout the month fall into several categories:
  • Adult rides (16+)
  • Mountain bike rides in the George Mitchell Nature Preserve
  • Women-only rides
  • Kid events (ages 5-14)
  • Workshops
  • Bike Swap Meet
  • Bike to Work Day
  • Bike the Woodlands Day

altThere are five main events for children: On May 5th there is a ride for kids ages 4 to 10 at Rob Fleming Park. The May 13th kids event is a bike rodeo which focuses primarily on bike safety. That same Saturday there are four neighborhood bike rides for all ages and kids are encouraged to participate. These rides are short and tour around the neighborhoods on the pathways. A Kids' Fun Ride for young riders (4-9) is hosted the morning of May 20th and a Junior Run-Ride-Run Challenge will be held May 26th for older kids (10-15).

Helmets are mandatory for all riding events. An RSVP is strongly encouraged to be sure you have a reserved spot in your chosen activity. Agreeing to a waiver will be part of the RSVP process. For full details please visit BikeTheWoodlands.org.
