Blue Heron Farm is a family-owned goat farm that uses organic and sustainable farming principles in raising healthy livestock and making goat cheese. Using the farm as a teaching tool, the family gives tours for a small fee to cover the cost of their time and the cheese sample received at the end of tour.

The walking tour includes a view of the city in Chase Tower’s Sky Lounge, the tunnel system, a lesson on the architecture of the 1929 Chase Building, and a stop at the Visitor’s Center inside City Hall.

Discovery Green serves as a village green, uniting the city of Houston with sustainable practices and cultural events. Field trips and group tours are welcome and can include library story time, a tour of the grounds and art, puppet show, and boxed lunches.

The tour of the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas is open to groups of 15-40 high school juniors and seniors. Requests for tours must be made three weeks in advance and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

The Central Branch of the Houston Public Library welcomes group field trips and offers a variety of educational options, including story time, lessons on book care and library skills, catalog and database training, and tours of the entire library or kids section.

Minute Maid Park, home of the Astros professional baseball franchise, offers educational group tours of its facilities. Tours include interactive Learning Centers.

Families are always invited to enjoy the attractions on their own or coordinate a group trip to experience a guided tour of the facilities with a choice of three options: Rainforest Exploration, Ocean Exploration, and Funday.   Funday is a customized package of the attractions.

Moorhead Blueberry Farm is a pick-your-own blueberry farm. Families can pick berries during blueberry season, which lasts from May to July.
